Oregon Mommas is a blended company that creates 100% natural, handcrafted products. We are two entrepreneurial moms, Ashley Huggins and Danelle Atkinson, who have been friends for years and are growing our futures together.

About Ashley

My story really started when I became a mother and wife. My husband had a side business selling mistletoe for a little extra cash during the holiday season. Together, we transformed something small into a successful business: Oregon Mistletoe. The knowledge and experience of running our mistletoe business has led me here.

Oregon Mommas started with just wanting to make candles for fun with my best friend. We wanted to create something we would both enjoy. Doing further research, we discovered that the candles we had been creating and burning in our home were toxic. Having found a love for making candles, we set out to make healthy, affordable 100% natural candles. Having found this love, and finding that my friend Danelle and I made a great partnership, we decided to turn it into a business. Since then, I've found that healthy options on the market are overpriced solely because they are better for you. Having families of our own, we really want to make products that are both useful and affordable. My daughter has eczema. I have struggled to find healthy, affordable products that help. Oregon Mommas was created out of our desire to bring healthy and affordable products to families like ours.

About Danelle

My name is Danelle Atkinson, owner and creator of Momma D's Cosmic Creations. I grew up with a lot of crystals around me. I have always felt a strong connection with them and their healing abilities. This is where my interest started. The idea for this business came when I started to look within myself to find out what it is that genuinely makes me happy. Today, I can say that I am being my truest most authentic self. That is where I find my true happiness.

Several years ago I started soul searching, trying to find out who I truly was and what I wanted to do with my life's journey. I decided to step out of my comfort zone and take a chance on myself. It is here that I created a business for myself. I was coming to the end of working for others and bettering their businesses. I am the mother of two young children, Zoey is 10 and Willa is 4. I balanced this for about a year, growing my "babies" while also working, and raising our girls with my now husband, Ryan. December 2020, I was faced with some big decisions. I decided to trust the universe and quit my job, letting go of all fear and doubt. This was the best thing I could have ever done for myself. I am proud of the example I am setting for my children. Our 100% natural soy wax, scented, holistic crystal candles are poured with intention from the very beginning. First, we determine what each scent symbolically represents, then add herbs, flowers, and crystals to further support the intention of the candle`s purpose. For example, with crystals, rose quartz purifies and opens the heart at all levels to promote love, self-love, friendship, deep inner healing, and feelings of peace, so we add rose quartz to our calming, anti-anxiety candle. Lastly, we infuse our crystal candles with Reiki energy, either in our home, at the Oregon Coast, or at another fabulous nature spot in the beautiful state of Oregon. Reiki is an energy healing technique that promotes relaxation, reduces stress and anxiety, and improves the flow and balance of your energy to support healing, both physically and emotionally.

Scented Candles and Melts

While paraffin candles are typically the most popular and affordable candles on the market, they are quite bad for the consumer and the environment. They create highly toxic benzene and toluene when burned. Both are known carcinogens. In fact, the toxins released in paraffin candles are the same toxins found in diesel fuel fumes and are linked to asthma and lung cancer. These toxins are harmful to humans and animals and can cause allergies and asthma to flare up. We DO NOT make or sell paraffin candles. Instead, we use 100% natural and non-toxic soy wax for our candles and melts. :)

The fragrances we use are clean and exclude all materials known to be carcinogenic, including all of those in California`s Prop 65. The wicks we use are flat, braided, cotton, lead-free wicks with paper threads woven into the cotton ensuring consistent burning with higher fragrance loads. Our candles are 100% phthalate-free, non-toxic and vegan friendly. There’s no need to worry about burning our candles in your home around your family or pets. Our all-natural, long-lasting candles burn approximately 4.5 hours per ounce and come in a variety of delicious scents.

Himalayan Salt has multiple health benefits for skin, it can help treat eczema, acne and psoriasis. Himalayan salt has antibacterial properties. It also helps relax and calm the body.

Dead Sea Salt helps soothe sore muscles and help with skin conditions like eczema. Using dead sea salt topically can reduce inflammation, redness, and rough skin. Dead sea salt is rich in nutrients, magnesium, calcium, sulfur, and zinc.

Brown Sugar is high in antibacterial properties, it properly cleanses your skin and exfoliates, lessening acne and helps to prevent breakouts, It also hydrates naturally providing good complexion. It is so similar to oils, that are naturally produced by the body, that our bodies can not tell the difference. Which makes it less likely to clog pores, leading to fewer breakouts. Jojoba oil helps your body produce collagen. It helps soothe eczema, psoriasis, and other dry skin issues. Topically helps relieve dryness, flaking and itching. Olive Oil is rich with vitamins, including vitamins A, D, K and E. Olive oil decreases acne by killing off bacteria, moisturizing and hydrating skin.

Castile Soap is a vegetable-based soap that is free of chemicals, synthetic ingredients, and animal products. It can be used to wash your skin, hair, clothes, and more. As it is hypoallergenic, it may be an ideal option for people with sensitivity to harsh soaps and cleansers.

Beeswax, thanks to its antibacterial agents, has a long history of being used for certain skin issues. Historically, this has included treating burns and wounds. Nowadays, it’s also used in ointments and creams, often to soothe symptoms of certain skin conditions, such as psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, boils or diaper rash caused by Candida albicans. A 2018 study even found that natural products, such as beeswax, were far superior in managing sensitive skin compared with skin care products with synthetic ingredients. Natural products minimized the chances of skin irritation while providing soothing benefits. A 2020 review notes the following benefits of beeswax when used in skin care:

I have always had a very strong connection to crystals and the energy they attract and dispel. My handmade crystal bracelets are intuitively created for the intention or struggles we face as individuals. Wearing crystal jewelry is a great way to attain the amazing benefits of crystals, without having to carry around separate larger stones throughout the day.

I currently work with about 40 different genuine crystal beads. I have a couple of general bracelets in my inventory; a chakra balancer, one for anxiety, one for self-love, and one representing the moon phases. I’m also open to custom creations. What I very much enjoy doing is working with you on an individual basis.
